Weekend Wrap-up: Time Together in the Sun

Phil and I were busy this weekend getting some things done (as most are on the weekend) but we mostly spent a lot of time with one another which was lovely.  The weather was AMAZING the entire weekend and even made waking up at 7am to go grocery shopping bearable.  On Saturday we went to Langley to do some Birthday shopping for Phil, then visited Fort Langley for the first time since the Albion Ferry shut down.  On Sunday we did the way-too-early grocery shop, then came home to have our weekly brunch together.  In the afternoon we went on our first bike ride of the year and did some exploring in our own town.  New areas get developed so quickly it's nice to ride around to check them out.  After an extensive house cleaning (I'm really messy on the weekend), Phil made homemade pizza for dinner and we had our cupcakes from Saturday for dessert.  Yum!
Egg Cups - I actually made these on Thursday but had to share
Muffins - also made on Thursday

Weekend Wrap-Up: When the man's away...

This weekend Phil went camping for a friend's stag.  While he was away I took the opportunity to do some painting and finished a few odd tasks around the house (such as hanging pictures in our kitchen).
On Sunday I met my friend K at the lake for some much needed girl time.  After Phil got home we took a walk to the grocery store and stocked up on ingredients to make margherita pizzas (SO YUMMY!!).  It's safe to say we're still addicted to basil...
After dinner we headed on another walk to the movie theater to watch 'Our Idiot Brother'.
One of the things I love about Phil is his ability to go with the flow.  I didn't tell him which movie we were seeing until the title came up on the screen.  Luckily he liked the movie, as did I.  I give it a solid B if anyone wanted to know the letter grade I'd give the movie...  We heard someone in the theater after the movie let out say 'it's more of a feel-good movie than a comedy...' so take his word for it if you'd like...
Hope you had a great weekend!!

Weekend Wrap-Up: BC Long

This long weekend was fantastic.  The sun was shining all weekend which was a pleasant surprise.  Friday was spent running errands, and doing some job hunting.
Happy Eggs!
Eggs in Pita
Saturday was spent at Alouette Lake with Phil.
He was brave enough to go swimming.
I was not.
Too much sunshine = awesome picture

Sunday was spent in Harrison.
We went bike riding around the residential area and through some of the paths around there.
The blackberry bushes were mean and scratched my legs.
We had awesome pizza here.
And had leftover dessert with D and J afterward.

Today I spent a majority of my afternoon at Michaels looking for art supplies for an upcoming project.
That's all...
I hope the sunshine stays all week...
Birthday countdown begins!!
