Weekend Wrap-up: Daffodils!

This weekend my dear friend K and I went to this festival Sunday morning after a lovely brunch at my place.  I was pleased to have the company and had a great time exploring all the different types of daffodils.  I had no idea there were so many different kinds!  Most of them were similar to the typical ones you'd see in the grocery stores but others were so different and unique.  I was amazed at their unique beauty.  I'm not sure if I'll add this festival to my yearly 'must-see' festivals but I had fun and we each went home with a package of pretty daffodils.
I was silly and left my camera at home so below are a few photos I took with my iphone:
Obviously not flowers . . . but loved the display
After sitting in the window these babies started opening late afternoon
I also did a bunch of house fixin' and finally completed the finishing touches on the ensuite.  It took way longer than I had anticipated and I'll leave the decorating for later . . .Here are some sneak peeks:
Another house project complete - staining the dining room table! Hurray!

A pretty relaxing and productive weekend all mixed in - although after all the painting and sanding and staining, I'm ready for another weekend!  Ha . . .have a great week!

Weekend Wrap-up: Time Together in the Sun

Phil and I were busy this weekend getting some things done (as most are on the weekend) but we mostly spent a lot of time with one another which was lovely.  The weather was AMAZING the entire weekend and even made waking up at 7am to go grocery shopping bearable.  On Saturday we went to Langley to do some Birthday shopping for Phil, then visited Fort Langley for the first time since the Albion Ferry shut down.  On Sunday we did the way-too-early grocery shop, then came home to have our weekly brunch together.  In the afternoon we went on our first bike ride of the year and did some exploring in our own town.  New areas get developed so quickly it's nice to ride around to check them out.  After an extensive house cleaning (I'm really messy on the weekend), Phil made homemade pizza for dinner and we had our cupcakes from Saturday for dessert.  Yum!
Egg Cups - I actually made these on Thursday but had to share
Muffins - also made on Thursday
