Weekend Wrap-up Con't: Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day!

Patriotic Outfit Choice
On Sunday Phil and I had a lovely brunch together and then headed to the local flea market.  Unfortunately it was closed due to the holiday so we walked next door to the Canada Day festivities being held at the exhibition park.  The event was more geared towards children so there wasn't a lot that was grabbing our attention until!  Phil noticed a bright purple food truck.  - Cue angelic singing here - I have been wanting to check out the Suburban Spoon and finally had the chance.  So Food Truck Crawl continued.  I had the Vegetarian Chili and Phil decided on the Thai Chicken Bites with French Fries.  Man oh man was it delicious!  Serving all dishes in a cone was a neat touch - and impressive for chili.

We didn't stay for any fireworks this year and went to have dinner with Phil's family.  After diner we enjoyed many hilarious slides from when his older brothers were younger (Phil wasn't born at this point).  I enjoyed the 1970's hair and decor a great deal and can't wait to see some slides of my guy growing up.

Since our long weekend wasn't so great weather wise we spent the next day putting around the house, eatin' fresh coconut, finding new friends at the grocery store, freaking ourselves out with horrible documentaries and enjoying delicious pizza with produce from the farmers market.

Weekend Wrap-up: Happy Victoria Day!

Happy Victoria Day!
This weekend was FANTASTIC!  Sure it rained all Sunday and Monday so Phil and I mostly stayed around the house but I think it was just what we needed (or at least what I needed).  I didn't post anything from last weekend so here are many random pictures from the last two weeks:

My dear friend G came for a visit and I was so pleased to see him.  It had been approximately four years since we saw each other last and it didn't feel like any time had passed.  I felt pretty bummed after he left but had both my parents and Phil's parents over for dinner to celebrate a late Mother's Day so no time to be sad!  The dinner went really well - thanks to Phil and all his hard work!
Even after two visits and a phone convo with K I still managed to finish my book AND return it to the library ON TIME!  This seriously is a major problem with me but NOT ANYMORE! Times they are a changin' . . .and the fees keep going up so . . .
Saw Mr. Snail on our way home from a rainy weekend walk.
My Vision Board.  I Need Help.  Ha-ha.
Phil and I watched 'Overboard' with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell this weekend (my first time) and LOVED IT!  So so funny!  We popped our own popcorn - kind of the only way I like it.  No chemical sludge please.  Yick. . .
No weekend would be complete without PANCAKES!  The strawberries were an added bonus.
I guess I caught the baking bug this weekend and finally baked some macaroons as well. . . there is way too much food in our house right now. . . so not complaining!!
I also did a bit of watercolour practice - can you tell who it is?  I sure hope so. . .
Have a great (short) work week!!
