This weekend my sister and her boyfriend J came out my way for a visit. We visited the Candy Store before heading out to to the farm to pick out our pumpkins.
There were no chocolate cupcakes on the menu board this time around (boo) so I went for Lemon Tarts and a Hot Chocolate.
I held back when it came to pickin' out candy, and came home with only a few treats.
The weather was absolute crap but we lucked out and had no rain while we were actually at the farm but the ground was awfully muddy which I found to be a lot of fun. Yay for rubber boots!!
On Sunday I made two different soups so we could have enough to freeze for cold rainy nights.
I decided to make Curried Butternut Squash Soup using this recipe and the squash I picked up from the farm. I would highly recommend this recipe (for broth I bought Campbell's Vegetarian Vegetable Broth).
The other soup I made was Split Pea and I used this recipe to make it. It too turned out quite well.
