Weekend Wrap-Up-Birthdays, and an Airshow + Dessert of the Day Con't

This weekend was fantastic!

Saturday was my family's celebration of all us girls' birthdays all in one day.

We had a few reasons for doing it that way this year and it turned out to be a really fun idea (parts of which were an utter gong show ha-ha).

We started with a light salad for dinner, and maybe involved playing with our food....

I decided to make two out of three of the desserts (yes we each had our own cake/cupcakes) and I got to try out my new cake decorator.

For Mom's I made this cake again but instead of icing, I tried the Peanut Butter Glaze and it was really delicious.  The only thing that went wrong with this one was the raw sugar I used didn't dissolve properly and was a little gritty in some pieces.  Boo.

For mine I made Lemon Cupcakes with Lemon Icing.

For my sister we picked up an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen but accidentally took it out of the freezer too early (the house being way too warm didn't help), so it looked like this before we had a chance to actually light her candles...



On Sunday Phil and I went to the airshow.
It was cute to see him so excited and I really enjoyed our day together.
I took about 500 photos so below is just a couple for now of the Snowbirds...
