Happy Canada Day!

On Sunday Phil and I had a lovely brunch together and then headed to the local flea market.  Unfortunately it was closed due to the holiday so we walked next door to the Canada Day festivities being held at the exhibition park.  The event was more geared towards children so there wasn't a lot that was grabbing our attention until!  Phil noticed a bright purple food truck.  - Cue angelic singing here - I have been wanting to check out the Suburban Spoon and finally had the chance.  So Food Truck Crawl continued.  I had the Vegetarian Chili and Phil decided on the Thai Chicken Bites with French Fries.  Man oh man was it delicious!  Serving all dishes in a cone was a neat touch - and impressive for chili.

We didn't stay for any fireworks this year and went to have dinner with Phil's family.  After diner we enjoyed many hilarious slides from when his older brothers were younger (Phil wasn't born at this point).  I enjoyed the 1970's hair and decor a great deal and can't wait to see some slides of my guy growing up.

Since our long weekend wasn't so great weather wise we spent the next day putting around the house, eatin' fresh coconut, finding new friends at the grocery store, freaking ourselves out with horrible documentaries and enjoying delicious pizza with produce from the farmers market.
