Phil and I had tickets to see
Steel Panther (
again) in concert downtown so we decided to make a night of it and booked a room at a
Best Western within walking distance. The staff were quite helpful and the lobby was pretty fancy shmancy. Our room was on the 15th floor and I stupidly forgot to take any photos off of the balcony. The concert itself was fun (although I feel like last time had better energy . . .) - I enjoy the people who decide to dress up, some outfits get pretty crazy!

The next morning Phil agreed to accompany me to the Farmers Market downtown 'cause if you know me at all, you know I can't pass up the opportunity to check out a new Market. The prices seemed to be a little higher than I'm used to but that's typical for downtown. I still managed to find a few different types of veggies which I'm excited to try cooking up for dinner in the near future. As usual, I enjoyed the market people, the vendors are friendly and love talking about their farms/produce/market. I would definitely recommend checking out this market if you're in the
area.

After dropping of my veggies Phil and I set out on the mission to see out a few Food Trucks. They're becoming pretty popular however we didn't find as many as I was hoping to. We did find two - the first was
The Loving Hut. It wasn't in it's usual location due to some sort of festival that was going on so we had to walk another 20 minutes but it was entirely worth it. Phil and I shared a Chick'n Burger and Fries with Cheese Sauce from the first truck. The gentlemen working the truck were great - very friendly.

On our journey to find the second food truck we came across some sort of Latin Festival that had taken over Granville Street. I was drawn to a man in a fancy hat selling young coconuts. I realize they're cheaper in the grocery stores but I couldn't resist! It was delicious. Here at the festival we found our second food truck -
The Kaboom Box. I was pretty full by this point and passed on ordering anything but was impressed by their only using Oceanwise Seafood. Phil chose the Venison Burger and said it was delicious!

After a long day of wandering in the misty rain I came home to a bloom! How exciting . . . I had written on my pot 'Calendula' but I suppose I mixed them up 'cause I'm not sure what this is but it sure isn't Calendula . . .anyone? help?
Hope you're having a great weekend!
