Phil and I were able to see City and Colour in concert last week before the freezing rain arrived, which I was so thankful for. The concert was amazing! So nice to have a night out listening to amazing music.

The next morning found Phil inspired to try on my driving glasses and sing 'Save your Scissors' PS-they didn't play that one. |
But on Friday we were dealing with the last bit of this
+ a lot of scary icy roads:
So the weekend was mostly spent sloshing around prepping for Monday's Chinese New Years feast, hanging out with my momma, lunch with friends and doing some things around the house.
I really wanted to try making a few homemade Chinese food dishes and invited J to join Phil and I for dinner Monday evening for Chinese New Year. A lot of prep work went into this dinner and I honestly couldn't do it with out Phil's help. It really made the evening go a lot smoother having someone who's willing to help out. I'm sure if it were anything other than food, I would have had a harder time convincing him to help. . .just kidding. . .maybe. . .

I tried making my own wonton soup - having never even had wonton soup before I think I did pretty good. I followed the recipe but I don't think I folded my wrappers correctly? They stayed together for the most part so it really doesn't matter but they didn't look too much like the photo. . .

The night was a success - great food and greater company.
Maybe an annual tradition??
